October 18, 2023 
Meeting Summary 
● Roll call 
● September minutes approved 
● Meeting started by Commission Director Karla Murphy 
○ Reviewed handicap applications 
■ One approved 
■ Need to check with neighbor to see if eligible for parking spot 
○ Created and added flier to senior center 
○ Discussed questions about transporting equipment 
■ Partner with Council on Aging and share resources 
○ Discussed issues with Social Security offices and getting Social 
Security 
■ Vision-impaired; some software might result in bad
experience if no staff training in use of software 
■ Sudbury Commission on Disabilities made their webpage
accessible; something to integrate into our website system 
○ Discussed project focus library grant and partnering with town
council manager to apply for grants 
■ MOD stated that we have a good chance of getting the

application process completed and a good chance of getting
the project funded based on our needs 
■ Need to get the library board on board and agree to accept
the grant 
■ Graduate research studies also presented work on library
accessibility grant improvement done by UMass student and
was shared with members through discussion 
■ Ramp at kids only since 1996? 
■ Review application deadline dates to meet the requirements
and complete application process 
● Discussed upcoming events such as guardianship and supported decision
making event the following Wednesday 
● Scheduled the year out 
● Discussed booklet updates with ads and finishing the resource booklet to
be distributed by the town and added to town resource 
● Next meeting: November 22, 2023
