● October minutes approved
● Meeting started by Commission Director Karla Murphy
○ Discussed Grant Application and process for Library accessibility
funding
■ Town Manger Grant approval for application
■ Features and specification of the grant application discussed
■ Partner with Council on Aging and share resources
○ Town Website accessibility improvement
○ Connect with resources and materials and presentations to the town
council meetings.
○ Chapter 24 funds ask about using resources. Report on using
funds? (Need greater clarity on this)
○ February Presentation at the Winthrop Senior center/meeting with

council on aging on cross accessibility and program funding?
○ Addressing ADU needs and did you know ADU units are allowed in
Winthrop. Develop a listening session and a informational sheet on
ADU in Winthrop with funding and financing opportunities.
○ Save the harbor save the bay meeting,invite and grants.
○ February 16 attend town council meeting.
○ American legion Accessibility funding
○ Resource and Booklet Guide Updated
■ Where copies will be distributed: Town Library, Senior
center,Town hall,Schools resources, Available for Public
school teachers and school libraries,
■ Need to get the library board on board and agree to accept
the grant
■ Graduate research studies also presented work on library
accessibility grant improvement done by UMass student and
was shared with members through discussion
■ Dates and Upcoming items:
-Wed., Jan 17, 2024: Our WCOD monthly meeting
-Thurs., Feb. 15 @ 6 p.m. at WCAT : Commission
members meet with Judie VanKooiman for interview to
be aired on WCAT
-Wed., Feb. 28 @ 1 p.m. @ Senior Center:
Presentation on Soc Security with Jon & Kathleen (1
hour)
Agenda Item: Review the Chapter 22 money every six
months.
