Hearing on tree removal at 51 Loring Road

All four attendees objected to the removal of the tree and spoke out on their viewpoint.

This tree removal had been taken up previously by the Tree Committee

Because of the objections against the removal of the tree at 51 Loring Road, this decision will
go before the Town Council

Final resolution will be determined by the Town Council because of State Law and Town
Ordinance

One attendee did not feel that this needed to be go before the Town Council.

Chris Aiello as chair, unsure about the intent of the law and whether or not it is applicable to
public or private projects. Lots of gray areas. How do we differentiate between these two trees
up for discussion tonight. The ordinance is not clear.

Ultimately, the Tree Committee had voted that the tree NOT BE REMOVED. The Chair will
bring to the Town Council for final resolution.

Joanne Hillman made the motion to close the hearing on 51 Loring Road.

Hearing on the removal of a tree at 170 Grovers Avenue

The homeowner has requested removal of the tree in order to put in a driveway which
reportedly has been approved by the Building Department. We have not seen any plans for
said driveway

The tree in question is identified as a Norway Maple (Which is now considered an invasive
species) The tree is in fair health according to the Tree Warden, but does not have a full
canopy. It is in decent health and will live for years.

The Tree Committee voted 3-1 that the tree not be removed and Chris Aeillo will bring to the
Town Council for a hearing.
