II. Announcements
There were no new announcements presented.
III. Director ’ s Comments
A. Kathy Dixon reported that van ridership for each month continues to increase greatly and
has been almost double for each month this year as compared to the same period last year.
Rides in Winthrop are free due to the Grant we recently received.
B. Kathy Dixon reported that the 19 recent Tax Lottery participants have all been placed in
their respective positions with the Town and that both the participants and the offices
where they have been placed are happy.
C. Kathy Dixon reported that the Formula Grant has been increased to $80,000, which is a
major increase. She reported that since Covid, the Formula Grant now carries over into
the next year.
D. Kathy Dixon reported that she will begin looking into arranging the CPR training course
that had been suggested at a previous meeting. We will have to determine the cost of such

a training, and Kathy Dixon indicated she would ask Meredith Hurley if she knew of
anyone certified to conduct the course.
E. Kathy Dixon reported that Mystic Valley Elder Services had experienced a data breach at
the beginning of April. She reported that they have a $1 million dollar policy to address
this situation, and they will offer two years of free credit monitoring to those affected by
this breach. She indicated MVES will need $1.5 million dollars to update their system
following this breach.
F. Cynthia Huff asked if there was any update on a recent suggestion to ask a representative
of The RIDE to conduct an informational session at the Senior Center. Kathy Dixon will
talk to Rose Kay about this suggestion.
