Voted and accepted unanimously the minutes for February and April Meeting

Update from the Tree Warden that there has been 25 new tree plantings. Three
were new donations, 5 replacement trees and 17 in new locations. The tree pits
on Main Street have all been planted.

Tim and Tom reported on their findings of possible tree placements on Cross
Street to River Road. Trees could be planted near the ball fields, high school
area and along Lewis Lake in back of the houses, where wires would not be an
issue. There would need to be a call to DIG SAFE to assure that it is safe to dig
in any of these areas. There is funding for 50 trees within the budget. There was
some talk that they would be willing to do some of the planting themselves and
Joanne felt that WinthropLovesTrees might be willing to help as well, as they
have a growing list of volunteers.

Tim Duplin will recirculate the recommended tree list.

Discussion of Tree Ordinance
Pros and cons of Public / Private Tree protection. This discussion will continue
at the next meeting.

Joanne brought up that the Tree Inventory Contract is about to expire and if we
are to keep that information we will need to pay $2,500 a year to keep it where it
is. Paul O’Donnell will speak to the Town Manager regarding the possiblity of
keeping that information on the Town GIS system so that it can be updated in
the future.

Meeting adjourned at 7:25 pm
