Town Manager Report
11-19-2024
e An Electric Aggregation letter was mailed out to the homeowners. The
information in the letter is correct, and the incorrect column labeling on the
Aggregation website has been corrected. We apologize for any confusion this
caused. Also, a public hearing will be held on December 2, 2024, at 6 pm in the
Harvey Room. This meeting will also be held on Zoom for remote participation.
We will update everyone on the process if they would like to opt out or change
plans. We will also remind everyone about the process to get here and when this
will be implemented.
e Our new Assistant Town Manager, Chery! McCormick, started on November 18,
2024, and we are excited to have her onboard. Cherly will be focused on working
with the Planning Board and Board of Appeals and will begin creating a schedule
to apply for grants and what resources we will need to complete the grant
applications.
¢ We submitted our Annual Report for the Green Communities Grant Program to
DOER last week, before the November 15, 2024, deadline. We look forward to
submitting our next Green Communities grant application in the Spring 2025
application round.
e Special thanks to Denise Quist, her team, and all of the election workers for an
amazing Presidential Election. The election process went very smoothly, and it
was a direct result of all the hard work by Denise, her team, and everyone
involved. With almost 10,000 votes to be counted between early voting, mail-in
ballots, and election-day voting, they must be commended for their hard work and
dedication to the Town of Winthrop.
e The Collins Center is finalizing the Winthrop Classification and Compensation
Report that the Town Council ordered. I have reached out to see if they will be
available to come in and present the report to the Council. They may want to do
that via Zoom, but I am waiting to hear back from them.
e We have started contacting the Five Union groups whose contracts expire on June
30, 2025, to begin union negotiations. I will keep the Council updated as we move
forward with this process.
Please contact me directly if you have any questions about the items listed above or any
other issues. Thank you.
