June 9, 2025 Tree Committee Minutes
6 PM – DPW building 
▪ Review Prior Meeting ’ s Minutes 
▪ Tree Warden Report Out 
• Cool Corridors Grant: Grant Application has been drafted. Committee Members
signed to show support. Grant award amount is capped at $150,000. 
• Update on Recent Plantings: 3 zelkovas planted which were in the pots too long
and should have been rejected and were not planted well, 4 Pear Trees, and a
couple of cherry trees. 
• Tree Warden has issued executive order to ensure tree selection, planting, and
maintenance is done well. 
• Tafts Ave. tree removal update: Town attorney has been on vacation, Committee
to seek update. Police have been involved. 
• Bowdoin St. tree removal update: Town attorney has been on vacation,
committee to seek update. 
• Tim to draft letter to editor about care for public trees. 
▪ Review of Language for Updates to Tree Ordinance: Postponed to next meeting 
▪ Tree Maintenance, Plantings, and Removals 
• Tree farm work: Fencing updates needed. Desire to expand fencing. 
• QR code for volunteers. 
▪ Tree Donations & public outreach 
• Chris to work to hand out. 
▪ Other business of the committee 
• Drew and Tom to work to update GIS for Tree Inventory.
