Winthrop Firehouse Building Committee Meeting
Tuesday, July 29th, 2025 – Harvey Room
PRESENT: Karin Chavis, Hannah Belcher, Jim Letterie, Jill Dorr, Kim Dimes, Paul Flanagan, Stephen Calandra, Scott Wiley, Jack Dempsey
Absent: Joe Hanlon, Shannon Poulos, Marc Wallerce

MINUTES: Approval of minutes from 7/16/25. Kim Dimes motion to approve, motion seconded by Steve Calandra.
OLD BUSINESS/GENERAL DISCUSSION:
The meeting started with Dan Pallotta from P3 introducing Larry Trim, the architect from Kaestle Boos. Dan and Larry have been having weekly meetings since Kaestle Boos was awarded this project earlier this month. Dan gave a timeline for what is going to happen next. They will be doing digital surveys to see what is underground. There will be about 3 weeks of demolition - at this point design team meetings will take place. Pre-demolition - houses in the area will be inspected for pre demo damage. Kim Dimes asked if geothermal systems would be considered, Mr. Pallotta said they’d look at options after 12/1/25. Rink manager Bob DiMento raised concerns about the impact this will have on the skating rink.
NEW BUSINESS:
Next FHBC meeting will take place on Wednesday, August 13th at 5:00PM in the Harvey Room.
