Winthrop Working Together is hosting an event on September 27th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m.
at the Lyceum room, EB Newton building. There will be having guest speakers from the
Latino / Hispanic community (business owners, people working in community service,

etc.) totalk about and share their experiences. The CDICR has been asked to be involved
in the event in some way as it’s Hispanic Heritage Month 9/15 - 10/15

Potential liaison between town council and Hispanic/Latino community?
Indigenous People’s Day is 10/13/25

Veteran’s Day is November 11, 2025- looking ahead to ways to participate i n events held
by groups in town

No vote from the Town Council on the Proclamation proposed:

That the Town of Winthrop is a welcoming and inclusive community that values the
dignity, rights and contributions of all residents regardless of their immigrant status.

OLD BUSINESS
1. Review Minutes from previous meetings

2. Caring for and adding to the Tree and flowers around the memorial bench

3. Discuss the possible creation of events hosted by CDICR focused on ethnicity, culture, faith,

disability, etc. Perhaps team up with the Commission on Disabilities or Winthrop Working
Together?
