OLD BUSINESS/GENERAL DISCUSSION: Dan Pallotta opened the meeting by giving an update on what ’ s been happening in recent weeks. The building is nearly empty of all contents, old lockers are being recycled, and hazardous materials are being taken out. The committee viewed three separate design layout options and eventually unanimously decided on option C – the idea of moving the administrative offices to the side closet to the parking lot on Wheelock Street has a better flow. Meghan Collins is a landscape architect (KBA) talked about adding green space between the parking lot and Wheelock St, as well as other landscape designs on and around the property. Shannon Poulos asked about curb cut for parking lot on Wheelock St, concerned that neighbors might have a problem with it. Consideration of the neighbors regarding parking lot entrance/exit will be prioritized. Karin asked KBA architects to tweak option C and come back to the committee with suggestions. Steve Calandra said he corresponded with the brother of Michael Cellucci and assured him that no decisions about the tree honoring his late brother would be made without his input. No other trees will be taken down during construction. The tree warden has been in contact with KBA landscaper. Jim Letterie made a motion to pick option C. Roll call was unanimously approved with Shannon abstaining from the vote. There will be a meeting scheduled with neighbors of the new firehouse scheduled a week before demolition. Karin Chavis thinks that neighbors should be informed sooner/have more notice and Hannah Belcher would like them to be given schematics before the meeting.
