CDICR Meeting Minutes 5-13-26 
Meet the Commissioners at the 
Robert DeLeo Senior Center 
Attendees: Scott Mahoney-Wright, Celeste Riberio-Hewitt, 
Anita Preble 
A couple came in to talk (Jerry & Patricia), who moved here from Vt. They
were curious about what the CDICR does and talked about their
experiences in the past and now in Winthrop. They also discussed their
concerns about their grandchild, who is disabled and is moving to town
soon. 
1) Update on the June 13th Pride Potluck and Pride Ride- everything is
going well - 23 organizations will be represented and donations are
coming from many of the businesses in town including Twist & Shake,
Webster Bank, Winthrop Marketplace, and many others. We are
hoping to have a bike raffle to support CASA. Also, Scott applied for a
grant to help with the costs and to get pride swag to give away. The
bike ride will be accompanied by police (possibly on bikes but maybe
in cruisers) 
2) The Pride flag will be raised on June 2nd at 5:30 
3) The Town Council approved the Pride Proclamation 
4) May is Asian American and Pacific Islander month (AAPI) and Mental
Health Awareness month. We discussed having a calendar with all
the recognized groups for each month and maybe the town council
could just announce it once/month at their meeting in recognition. 
5) Scott now has access to our Facebook page so we can get more
information out to the public 
6) There was no response from the Town Council on our email asking if
there is a protocol in place in case ICE began actions in our town. 
7) Expanding membership - we will bring applications and information
to the Pride potluck to give out. 
8) Next meeting is Wednesday June 10th, 2026 at Town Hall
