OLD BUSINESS/GENERAL DISCUSSION:
Dan Pallotta started out the meeting by explaining that a drainpipe needs to be installed before the contractors can
bid on the project. The new drainpipe will eliminate some of the flooding problems that have gone on in this area for
decades. The pre-qualification committee will start to screen potential contractors; they ’ re expecting to get a
significant amount of interest. The project is generally right on target; SMI is happy with the progress thus far. When
the time comes to select a contractor, we must accept the lowest responsible bidder. Karin Chavis asked what the
timeline is/what the next steps are, Jim Letterie had similar questions; he wants to be able to tell the people in town
what to expect. Dan replied that the public won ’ t see much for the next four weeks but things should pick up in June
and July – bidding on the project will take place during the last week in June.
Next meeting June 2 nd @ 4:30
Chief Wiley made a motion for a roll call to adjourn; Shannon Poulos seconded the motion – unanimously passed.
Meeting adjourned at 5:25
