updating the committee on the progress of the project. Old soil is being taken out and replaced with good soil.
This should be finished by Labor Day. There was general discussion regarding the prequalification of
contractors and the bidding process. Kim Dimes had questions/concerns regarding silt draining into catch
basins and wanted to make sure that silt bags were being used. Shannon Poulos asked about the budget;
specifically, if we are on time and under budget. Dan replied that we are on schedule for budget, money is
earmarked for the pipe project but we still need bids in hand to really answer regarding the total project. We are
on target to start building in September. Bids are due back by August 12 th . There could be a slight delay
depending on the time it would take to reinforce the gymnasium wall. There was also discussion about having
the old pipe connect to the new pipe as well as make upgrades to the gym, all by Labor Day. To keep
community members informed about the construction project, Mr. Pallotta will be putting together a newsletter
to share updates.
Next meeting August 10th @ 3:30. Site Visit at the construction site of the new Firehouse then meet in the
Harvey Room immediately following.
Kim Dimes made a motion for a roll call to adjourn; Jack Dempsey seconded the motion – unanimously passed.
