Rosencranz v. Freeman

Federal lawsuitU.S. District Court, District of Massachusetts

A Winthrop resident's suit against Officer James Freeman of the Winthrop Police Department over his arrest outside his home on July 23, 2011, for false arrest, excessive force, assault and battery. The court's 2017 ruling sent most claims toward trial. The case settled at mediation on May 26, 2017, two weeks before trial, and every claim was dismissed with prejudice that June. The docket gives no amount. The filings below include the Town's insurer, MIIA, fighting his subpoena for its claims on Freeman and the department.
